Land Of The Dead

Yo. First time poster, but have long time respect for this kind of community. Ever since playing Resident Evil 1 on the Gamecube, the undead have become a obsession and phobia for me. And the threat of zombie takeover strikes me as very possible, if only a little bit improbable.
So, speaking of zombie world domination, I recently saw a trailer for George Romero's Land Of The Dead. And as far as zombie movies go, this one looks promising. They've gone beyond the cliche of a simple outbreak into the close handed future of an apoctalyptic world where humans live in walled cites with the constant fear of zombie on their front door. The only thing to be curious about is whether the outbreak is unexplained or has a corrupted virus behind it. I hope its the latter.
The release date is set for late June. Hopefully it will be as highly anticiapted as the trailers make it.

was wondering something... have you ever seen Night Of The Living Dead, Dawn Of The Dead or Day Of The Dead?
Guiltily, only the remake of Dawn Of The Dead. I'm familiar with the other titles, just having a harder time getting my hands on them.
hmm, okay... just some friendly advice... I would see those films before attempting to see Land of the dead.. only as it is the fourth film in the series... the other three explains what is happening.. well to an extent... the Night Of The Living Dead hints at a Venus probe carrying radiation back with it... however things are never fully explained as to why the dead are returning back to life to seek human victims... they just do... so its not like 28 days later... ummm... i would recommend watching the other three...

if you would like to talk more... add me to your friends list... I have added you...
Thanks for the advice! I will try to see those films before seeing LOTD.
no problem...
if you want to visit my website at
it has some more zombie info and cool stuff on those movies in the Media & pics sections... including trailers for all of the films... with LJ icons and such.... oooooooo
I have yet to see day of the dead, but I saw no connection between night of the living dead and dawn of the dead. They seem good stand alone movies. I do like the progression of the series though.

Speaking of which, I just got a copy of the original b&w NOTLD at Walmart for a dollar. *JOY!*
i think i saw that zombie who learned how to use a gun in one of the previews
I am a big fan of George A Romero. All three of the films were excellent. I don't know if you are in the UK but if you are then the best set I have seen is here.

The originals are low budget but are definatley essential viewing before Land of the Dead.
